RideShare Matching
AlterNetRides RideShare Matching service allows employees to look for RideShare
members, either to start a new group or to add to their
current group. You can sign up to have yourself listed;
and can search for others, whether or not you have registered.
Emergency
Ride
Our guaranteed ride home program if personal emergency arises during the workday and you
need to get to your car, home, or elsewhere. Call Commuter and Parking Services at 255-0000
(5-0000 from a campus phone). The service operates
from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note that the service is not intended for scheduled appointments, weather related closings or emergencies, or if you are experiencing a medical emergency for which an ambulance would be more appropriate. For
a medical, fire, or police emergency dial 911.
TDMP Books of One-Day
Permits
RideShare participants may request books of permits every
six months (groups receive one fewer books than there are
members in the group who have vehicles registered with the
Transportation Office). These books of ten one-day, campus
perimeter parking permits are valid in areas designated:
A, CF, CP, E, K, ME, O, SA, R, T, TH, W, and WE. You can locate
these areas on the faculty/staff
parking map*.
Reserved
Parking Space
In recognition of the additional
effort of coordinating a large RideShare group, qualifying groups may request a reserved RideShare parking
space. Groups of three or more who park in Tier 2 qualify,
as do groups of four or more who park in Tiers 3, 4, 5,
and 6. Any group in Tiers 2, 3, or 4 that is eligible for
a reserved space also receives a rebate (Tiers 5 and 6 pay
no fee).
Groups must maintain a qualified RideShare for 60 days prior to placement of a reserved space. Space designation is based on availability in the permit area. We'll do our best to locate
a space that is convenient for your entire group. To request RideShare
reserved parking, call 255-PARK. For parking
rate tier designations, fees, and eligible group sizes and
areas see the RideShare chart (see above).
RideShare participants
have the option of buying one additional book every six
months at a discounted price (currently $50). And some TDMP
participants, because of dependent- or child-care responsibilities,
may be eligible for additional free books (see FamilyCare
support service, below).
FamilyCare
If you have documented dependent- or child-care responsibilities
and you are a participant in OmniRide, RideShare, or Occasional
Parker, you may be eligible to receive additional free books
of one-day parking permits. To find out more call Commuter
and Parking Services at 255-PARK.
Park
and Ride
Your RideShare group can use park-and-ride lots to gather
centrally on the way to work. Parking in these lots is free.
Park-and-ride lots are indicated on the TCAT
Transit Map and listed here.
